Mixed Martial Arts

Mixed Martial Arts is a sanctioned sporting event, involving competitors that are matched based on size, skill, strength and experience. Within a controlled environment, they compete to see who is the better fighter. These fights can include striking, standing and grappling, and ground grappling. MMA has its roots and heritage in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and the Gracie family. While the lifestyle of BJJ aims to avoid fights, MMA is a sport in which athletes train for planned fighting events. MMA is a career, and to truly master these mixed martial arts athletes must train with dedication.
